She obtained her Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine in Seoul, South Korea in 1997. It was in Seoul, her home town; Dr.Kim began building her career as a veterinarian working in Seoul’s largest veterinary hospital. Dr. Kim always had aspirations of coming to America to practice Veterinary medicine. Those dreams finally came true in 1999, which led her to work for the San Francisco ASPCA. It was here where she helped make the San Francisco ASPCA the first “No Kill Movement” leader of the ASPCA nationwide. During her time in San Francisco, she learned about animal welfare, shelter medicine, and helped educate the community with outreach programs.
In 2005 Dr. Kim made her way to the eastern part of the country where she furthered her education at the nation’s top ranked veterinarian school, Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Here she attended clinical training while working in the New Jersey metropolitan area.
Since then, Dr. Kim has accumulated almost 20 years of experience working as a veterinarian. Her strongest interests are in surgery, dentistry and emergency care. Dr. Kim still continues to feed her curiosity for knowledge especially if it can make her become a better doctor, attending vet conferences throughout the country. She’s witnessed amazing stories and miracles between pets and their family; and has shared in their joys and sorrows.
